Questions & Answers

We have a list of common questions that people might have before going to the wedding.

Hotel

  • Is the hotel all-inclusive? Windjammer Landing has an optional all-inclusive add-on. It can be selected when you book your room or after arriving at the hotel. This option applies to everyone within a room and with a minimum of 3 consecutive days.

  • Does the hotel provide activities? Please look at our Things To Do page. The hotel also has a phone app for Apple and Google.

  • How do I communicate when I don’t have cell phone service? Some people might not have cell phone service while outside the U.S., but the hotel has Wi-Fi and messaging apps such as WhatsApp work for text messages and calls using only Wi-Fi (Apple and Google).

Passport / Travel Documents

  • Is a passport required for entering St. Lucia? Yes. Passports must be valid for 6 months after the return date. Currently, there is a 10-13 week processing time (not including mailing times) for obtaining or renewing a passport. More information about the application process can be found by clicking here.

  • Do I need any other travel documents? Yes. St. Lucia requires filling out an electronic immigration form within 3 days before arriving on the island. One form can be completed per family to receive a QR code by email to be presented to customs. More information about this form can be found by clicking here.

Transportation

  • How is transportation in St. Lucia? While the island is small, the roads are narrow and winding, so it takes time to get from one location to another. For this reason, we recommend being prepared and packing medication for motion sickness. They also make patches and bracelets too! The island does not have ride-sharing services, such as Uber and Lyft. Instead, car transportation is done by local drivers, who are typically paid in cash.

  • How to get from the airport to the hotel?

    • By car: The ride between the airport and the hotel takes about 90 minutes, it costs about $90 USD for up to 4 people, and can be booked through Windjammer Landing. Flights usually arrive in the early afternoon, potentially allowing for group transport to be coordinated.

    • By ferry: Boat transportation can be booked through Fun to See Island. The trip lasts from 90 minutes to two hours while enjoying the beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea. Prices start at $140 USD per person (complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and snacks are provided).

    • By helicopter: There are options of helicopter transport from the airport to nearby the hotel. It usually takes about 10–15 minutes, followed by a short car ride.

Wedding

  • Do you have a wedding registry? Your presence on our special day is a gift in itself. We recognize that you are spending a lot of time and money to attend our destination wedding, and we deeply appreciate just having you there with us. Therefore, we are not asking for gifts or having a wedding registry.

  • What is the dress code for the wedding ceremony and reception? While we want everyone to dress nicely for the occasion (and for pictures!), take the weather into consideration when choosing your outfit. Saint Lucia tends to be hot and humid, and we would like everyone to be comfortable. Lightweight fabric is highly encouraged, flowy dresses and dressy shorts are acceptable. And because the ceremony will take place in the grass, flat shoes or sandals are good options.
